Ha ha - Ok, I just remembered that blogger puts newest entries first. So, as you read the next 2 entries, its going to talk about "exciting news". Clearly, I'm out of blog practice - I've forgotten how it works. Ok, the exciting news is that Dave and I are now ..... residents of Honduras!!! I know, not life changing, but exciting, none the less! We spent all of today in Tegucigalpa, the capitol city, waiting in numerous lines, getting our finger prints done, spelling our parents' names a million times, etc. In the end though, we got our little slips of paper. It took us about 8 months, which is pretty fast for Honduras. We applied for a 3-year residency, even though we've only committed right now to 2 years. We figured that its easier to add on a year now, and it gives us a bit more flexibility.

These first pics are some recent moon shots by expert photgrapher, Dave Bettney. Putting his new tripod to work!

Here's Dave's most recent project - revamping our front porch! When we arrived our porch was kinda ugly, but it is on its way to being beautiful. Our house is pretty much the first thing visitors see when they arrive at camp, so we want it to look welcoming.

Dave has torn it all up, leveled it, and will be laying a cement pad tomorrow. Then, come the rocks (in the last picture) on top, with some grouting between. Dave's labour is free, the rocks were left over from Ken and Sue's fence, and the gravel from the dormitory. The only thing we'll need to buy will be a few bags of cement. We'll put up some pictures when it is finshed!

Hey Guys,
Congratulations on being residents. No more mandatory trips to Costa Rica for you! (You might want to go on non-mandatory trips, but you can do that on your own schedule now!)

Happy birthday Dave!
