New Pics!

Well, after 6 straight hours of uploading, we have some new pictures in our Photo Album. To say the least, the little town of Pukerau where we're staying hasn't entered the realm of high-speed. But, it worked out okay, as I worked in the camp office today, filling in as the camp administrator for Madeleine, who is getting her wisdom teeth out. Though I felt a bit lost, it was a great learning experience, and with our hopes to be involved in camp ministry long term, it will be handy to know more about the ins and outs of the office.

Dave and I are also filling in as Camp managers this weekend, as Kristian and his family are away on a church retreat. We have a ladies group in for the next few days, so it is Dave and 81 ladies on site! We've already planned a few mini-escapes. We managed to round up a couple of bikes this week that someone donated to the camp, so we enjoyed a ride yesterday, and hope for more this weekend. We'll take some pictures next time we're out, as the landscape really is beautiful. Last night, we rode home into the most beautiful sunset, the pink and orange sky contrasting with the brilliant green hills and, my personal favourite, the little white fluffy sheep! I still have a real urge to pick one up, but they're pretty scared of us, especially on our bikes.

We also went for a hike one night this week after work. Madeleine took us to the Hakanui Hills, which are about 20 minutes from Gore. Some of the last pictures on our photo album show us at the top. The view was beautiful, with the lights of Gore in the distance. We're hoping to go back next week, and do one of the longer hikes some night. The funny grass you see Madeleine laying in is a type native to New Zealand. I think they're called Tussocks.

Some of you have asked how you can pray for us, which we really appreciate. God continues to bless us, we know your faithful prayers are a part of that. Here are some specific things you can pray for:
  • Safety as we travel, work at the camp and go on adventures in the Great Outdoors
  • Continue to develop a strong foundation for our marriage
  • Wisdom in finding work in the next months
  • Bless our time serving at Camp Columba
  • Develop friendships with people we meet
  • Direction for our future after New Zealand
  • Health of our family and friends
  • Continue to depend on God for our daily needs

That's about it for now. Make sure to hit the "Our Photo Album" link on the side. For any flower lovers, there are some pictures of the tulip farm we visited - all the photo credits go to Dave! Miss you all!
